Pro Audio Analyzer Stand-Alone Version 2.2 ¥ Added a separate pink noise correction curve for the average response settting. ¥ The copy protection is now compatible with System 8. Pro Audio Analyzer Stand-Alone Version 2.1 Please Note: ¥ If you are running your main screen at depths greater than 256 colors please increase the memory partition of Pro Audio Analyzer to 3500K before running the program. The amount of memory needed by PAA is directly proportional to screen depth. ¥ With some system configurations turning on the "Phosphor Emulation" can result in jerky mouse movement. This behavior seems to be caused by the interaction of certain versions of the MacOS and hardware display cards. You can turn off the Phosphor Emulation to restore smooth mouse movement. New Features: ¥ Support for AudioMedia III card has been added. ¥ The length of the phase trail has been increased for the medium and long settings. This allows for more detailed phase display on faster computers. Slower computers should continue using the short phase trail length. Bugs Fixed: ¥ Changes in System 7.5.5 Sound Manager caused problems with Pro Audio Analyzer playback. This problem has now been fixed. ¥ The native analysis code has been improved. Spectrum displays should now run smoother and be even more accurate than previous versions. ¥ Pro Audio Analyzer should now work with all audio input sources for Sound Manager, including third party input drivers. ¥ Pro Audio Analyzer now fully supports the 604e PowerPC processor. ¥ Pro Audio Analyzer will not change the depth of the main display to 256 colors if it is already set to a higher depth. ¥ Pro Audio Analyzer should now be tolerant of digital audio stream dropouts (including connecting and disconnecting digital inputs while the program is still running). Pro Audio Analyzer Stand-Alone Version 2.0.1 Bugs Fixed: ¥ The bug that caused PAA to freeze in some systems with more than one Digidesign DSP engine has been corrected. Pro Audio Analyzer Stand-Alone Version 2.0 Here is your AD-1 Pro Audio Analyzer (Stand Alone) 2.0 update. The following features have been added and changes made : ¥ Phase Display: 1 ¥ You may now select one of three trail lengths. 2 ¥ You may now choose phosphor emulation mode. This makes the display smoothly fade away as it ages, like a real analog scope. This option may slightly effect phase display performance on some machines. 3 ¥ You may now have an optional grid over the phase display. This option may also slightly effect phase display performance. 4 ¥ The phase analysis is now optimized in the phase only display mode to provide the smoothest and fastest possible phase response. It is also optimized for best possible update rates when in the phase only view mode (see Views below). Use this when you are interested in the absolute maximum phase display performance. ¥ Spectrum Display: 1 ¥ The spectrum analysis code has been changed so that all frequency values are peak held instead of sampled. This means that the spectrum display is now much more accurate and will be more reproducible when re-analyzing the same section of audio. 2 ¥ You may now choose between peak and average response for the spectrum display. Please note that when using averaging response set to infinite hold, the levels will still ÒdecayÓ when the audio is silent. This is a perfectly natural result of silence averaging into the frequency spectrum. ¥ Views: ¥ You may now select one of several views for the PAA. This allows the display to be broken into sub-component panels. The view can be selected from the File menu or by holding down the shift and option keys while clicking in the PAA window. The views are: 1 ¥ All modules (Meters, Phase, Spectrum, Waveform). 2 ¥ Meters & Phase only. 3 ¥ Meters & Spectrum only. 4 ¥ Meters only. 5 ¥ Phase only. 6 ¥ Spectrum only. 7 ¥ Waveform only. ¥ Other Things: ¥ You may now set an option which will cause the PAA to release any Digidesign hardware when the PAA is switched to the background. This will allow you to run the PAA and Sound Tools; and to alternate between the two. With this option enabled the PAA will NOT analyze audio while it is in the background. ¥ Both the window positions and view choices are now saved and restored along with the usual parameters in each user preset. ¥ Some new controls and dialogs have been added to the menus. These functions were available on the front panel or by dialogs, but now can also be accessed via menus. ¥ A bug that caused an errant record buffer size warning on some PowerPC computers has been fixed.
